Anger is a corrosive emotion that can damage your physical, mental and emotional health. And yet it can be so hard to let go of, especially when the person who badly mistreated you refuses to acknowledge it or even acts as if nothing ever happened. Many people have found the first step to letting go of anger is recognizing that they have it. And why. Accomplishing this generates ideas to positively address it and sometimes finding it takes experimenting with different ones to find the most helpful.
Remembering when I have been a source of hurt has helped me cultivate a more compassionate attitude to those who’ve hurt me. Another thing is focusing on their good traits instead of their not-so-good ones, because I have mine, too.
