Faith in Food
Even when you have no faith in it, food can save the day, surprise you, change you, strengthen you. Share the food you love with an open heart and you’ll find that people can do all those things, too. I did, and I was comforted.
Food prepared and shared with love can be transformative. It helps bind people together, creating special memories to be savored as much as the meals themselves. They don’t have to be fancy—indeed, they usually aren’t. Just simple ones created from the heart. Among my favorites are my mom’s “drop biscuits” that she usually makes for me each Saturday morning despite recently celebrating her 86th birthday. It’s nourishment for my soul as much as for my body. What’s one of your favorite foods and who prepares it for you?
