Joy in Ordinary Things
My kitchen year started in a time of trouble, but it taught me a great deal. When I went back to cooking I rediscovered simple pleasures, and as I began to appreciate the world around me, I learned that the secret of life is finding joy in ordinary things.
My herbs, flowers and plants in terra cotta pots on my front porch are a constant source of joy. Watering them, pruning them and rotating them so they fully benefit from sunlight gets me out of my head and into the present moment, where I find joy and peace. What does this for you and how?
